Arrow Season 2 is a go :)

Arrow

10 Episodes in and can you say Fantastic. I always know when a show "has made it" when I am watching and my first thoughts are "this show is writing itself".  And to get there in only 10 episodes I believe is unreal. I know the writers are working hard but with the back stories they have done for each character and how they are interacting with each other, the scripts must be starting to flow as if alive. Giant Kudos go out to everyone working on this show. LOVE IT. Should be an easy Season 2 pick up.

The series follows Oliver Queen, billionaire playboy of Starling City, who spends five years stranded on an island following a shipwreck that claims the life of everyone else on board, including his father, Robert Queen, and Sara Lance, the sister of Oliver's girlfriend Laurel. Upon his return to Starling City, he is reunited with his mother, Moira, and her new husband, Walter, the former CFO of his father's company. He is also greeted by his younger sister, Thea, and his best friend, Tommy Merlyn, the son of billionaire Malcolm Merlyn; Oliver tries to reconnect with ex-girlfriend Laurel, but she blames him for the death of her sister, Sara. Oliver and Sara were having an affair at the time of the accident.

During the day, Oliver plays the billionaire playboy; at night, he becomes a green-hooded vigilante, following through with his father's dying wishes to right the wrongs of the Queen family, fight the ills of society, and restore Starling City to its former glory. Oliver's vigilante persona becomes the focus of Detective Quentin Lance, father to Laurel and Sara, who is determined to harass him, blaming Oliver for his daughter's death and his wife leaving him, though he remains unaware of his real identity. Oliver is also constantly flanked by a bodyguard, John Diggle, who later joins Oliver in his fight for justice. Moira is also hiding some secrets, as she knows that the family yacht was actually sabotaged.
Interview with Mike Grell

Hi and thanks for visiting my fan site. It is dedicated to the Arrow TV show and the Green Arrow comic books. And how the two relate or don't relate to each other.

I first started reading comics thanks to Mike Grell's mini series Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters.

I have followed and collected comics and Green Arrow items ever since.

What I loves about The Longbow Hunters was the fact that it was "real". GA was a Hero of a different sort, he did what he had to do to protect his love Dinah Lance, including killing the "bad guys".

This led into an ongoing monthly. "As the series was part of DC Comics' mature audience line, it took on a more gritty, violent, and urban tone, with Green Arrow often using deadly force against his enemies. Grell wrote the series for the first 80 issues, downplaying the super-hero aspects of the characters; Oliver abandoned his mask and was never actually referred to as "Green Arrow""

If you get a chance to get a hold of the comics from the 1987 run by Mike Grell get them, have a read, enjoy.
